Several Benefits of Firearm Suppressors (Silencers or Mufflers):
- Hearing Protection
- Safe Hunting
- Noise Complaint Reduction
Recreational shooters and hunters experience hearing loss from the noise of loud gunfire. Muffling the sound would reduce the loss of hearing before it is too late, not only for humans but for their loyal hunting dogs. A suppressor can reduce the amount of noise from a gunshot up to 20-35 decibels.
The anticipation of the noise from the gunshot can decrease accuracy whether a person is target shooting or hunting game. Containing the sound in the Silencer can help a hunter with accuracy and it also leads to a more humane hunt.
Many hunters want to hear their surroundings and opt not to wear hearing protection such as ear plugs. Suppressors allow for situational awareness while protecting the hearing of the hunter and those nearby. This helps create a safer hunting environment.
