Description

FBI1263, 357 magnum, 5” half-lug barrel with an excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 99% original blue with few blemishes to speak of and the target hammer and target trigger show light freckling with somewhat dull but nicely contrasting case-hardened color. The right of the frame to the rear of the cylinder shows the official seal of the FBI and the right side of the barrel displays “1934 FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION 1984”. The smooth goncalo alves magna grips with silver medallions are about excellent. The top of the frame and barrel rib have been finely checkered, the rear sight is a micro-adjustable blade, the front sight is a ramp-mounted Baughman blade. This type of front sight originated at the Bureau, Baughman was an employee there in the 30’s and designed the ramp-mounted blade for FBI use. This revolver comes with the original factory box containing paperwork, two-tone screwdriver and cleaning tools as well as a mahogany presentation case and shipping box. The case displays the FBI seal on the lid and the interior is blue-lined. An included letter details the relationship between the Model 27 and the FBI and the reason that this particular model was chosen for the 50th anniversary.
